Ferraz Shawmut of Carbone Lorraine Group celebrates the grand opening of its new facility, Ferraz Shawmut (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China to enhance its competitive advantage in both Chinese and overseas markets nearby. The inaugural celebration of this new facility was held on the afternoon of Sep.9th, 2009, with speeches of congratulations by Ernest TOTINO, CEO of Carbone Lorraine Group, Marc VINET, CEO of Ferraz Shawmut, Davis HUANG, General Manager of Ferraz Shawmut(Shanghai) Co., Ltd., WU Jianming, Head of Songjiang Industrial Zone Administration, and Caroline VIGNON-PENARD, General Manager of Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie Française en Chine. Colleagues from Carbone Lorraine Group and subsidiaries in China, key customers, strategic partners were invited to attend the ceremony.

The new facility takes 8,000 square meters of building area with office space of 800 square meters. Currently there are 80 employees and 3 workshops for 3 business lines: circuit protection, power interconnection, and thermal management, and one warehouse for logistics and supply chain. The new expansion in Shanghai strengthens group’s leadership of electrical protection in China and Asian countries. The new site will enable Ferraz Shawmut to target emerging markets in China with greater potentials, and provide quicker and better service to global OEM partners as well as local customers in China.
