The Group today announced the acquisition - through Ferraz Shawmut LLC, its US-based Electrical Protection division - of General Electric’s Power Fuse operations from GE Consumer & Industrial business. The GE component, based in Vieques, Puerto Rico, will be combined with the existing Ferraz Shawmut medium voltage fuse business based in Newburyport, Mass.

Acquiring GE’s medium voltage fuse business represents a significant expansion for Ferraz Shawmut in terms of product offering and fuse technology. This will strongly enhance its position in this growing segment of the power fuse industry.
