Ferraz Shawmut is the global leader in electrical protection solutions using fuse technology, and the Power Interconnection Business Units designs, produces and sells made-to-order systems for power supply and for electrical protection and distribution for the transport, power conversion, and electrical protection and distribution markets.

With extensive know-how and experience in electrical contactors and asbestos-free cement/glass composites, Lenoir Elec brings a complementary offering of solutions to Ferraz Shawmut’s target markets. The Lenoir Elec brand will benefit from Ferraz Shawmut’s global sales network to increase market share internationally.

In 2005 Lenoir Elec made € 5.3 million in sales, half of it in exports.

Ferraz Shawmut is the leader on its global electrical powerrelated market. Ferraz Shawmut offers novel solutions to enhance the safety of low and medium voltage installations and equipment. Above and beyond its product offering, Ferraz Shawmut provides added value in the form of technical support for its customers: OEMs, electrical contractors, electrical panel builders, industrial maintenance departments and power utilities.

As the Carbone Lorraine group's Electrical Protection Division, Ferraz Shawmut had € 180 million in consolidated sales in 2005. The company manufactures at a dozen locations around the world and has set up a global logistics organization to serve the global market. Ferraz Shawmut products are sold all over the world at 4500 points of sale thanks to professional distributors of electrical equipment.
